ROVICK HOUSE

Location: Ocampo, CABA, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Use: Residential.
Year: 2017
Surface: 500 Mt2

The building where the unit is housed has a mixed structure of reinforced concrete and exposed brick, where its façade is protected by the declaration of heritage of the neighborhood. This building was built in 1978 by the architect León Soldati. As seen in the original plans of the apartment consisting of three floors and a mezzanine,
the previous architecture had dividing partitions in the front between the environments which conditioned the spatiality of the floor plan, predominantly in the social areas and the segregated vertical circulation responded to this distribution, which was limited at the time by structural determinants.
These reasons made us define the direction of the intervention as we felt that we had to integrate the unit into the environment. The client's requirement was to adapt the unit to a contemporary home with the latest technology. So we saw the opportunity to generate a living box completely integrated in itself and in direct dialogue with the outside through visuals and light.
